Can I add undercoating to a stainless steel sink?
Got a cool restaurant sink for the kitchen, but it doesn't have the sound-deadening insulation that residential stainless sinks typically have. Someone recommended automobile rubberized undercoating spray, but I thought, "not intended for use indoors, it's gonna stink" (even after it dries). Also, might not be too effective. Thought of dynamat, but it costs $$$$$! Any hints?
I would not use any materials, fabrics, that absorp moisture (condensation from cold water use 'sweating') One option would be coating with 'Ener foam' or similar. (applies like Great stuff. a little messy initially, but with some room, you could rough form around with cardboard. The results with this product would be worth the effort.

How to repair hole in stainless steel sink?
A friend has a restaurant and has a huge 3 tub sink. It has a small pea size hole and leaks...but the whole sink is already built into the counter...and really doesn't want to pull out sink and replace...so he asked me if it was possible to repair or weld...and I'm not really sure....If anybody has any ideas...on a repair kit...plz help....It always has hot water and the repair kit would need to b water proof....Well thanks and hope to hear from someone soon thanks. =)
the same way that a toilet tank connects to the bowl.....they use a brass bolt 2 rubber washers 1 metal washer and a wing nut.. the brass bolt has a large flat head.....a rubber washer is then forced on the bolt and up against the head then the bolt is placed down thru the hole...then from below another rubber washer is pushed up on the bolt and up against the sink...ok now you will need a metal washer then the wing nut...the metal washer is needed so you can tighten the nut without friction...... you can buy this kit in any home depot.. lowes or hardware store for about 5 dollers its called a tank to bowl kitany type of epoxy or weld will require alot of cleaning to remove years of grease
Anyone have a warm, tasteful kitchen using an industrial table, sink etc. like in restaurant kitchens?
This type of stainless steel equipment looks cheaper than the flimsy but expensive designer kitchen equipment I see in showrooms. It's super easy to clean, doesn't take as much room and it's superior for kitchen needs (which is why restaurants have such equipment in the first place). But it looks cold and sterile. Are there ways to make it look tasteful and warm?
My answer for everything: Red. I love red in the home and I think accents like towels and canisters and such, and even your cabinets could be red and look awesome and it warms up a kitchen for sure.. (I have red cabinets and cupboards with tan & black stone marble tops). I think the industrial silver would be a great look, besides thats part of its charm. It's like a Soho is different than a farm house! It's the Soho of kitchens! Have fun decorating. And PS: Nothing cold about "red" smileee
The best plan to open a small food-prep/delivery business?
I am considering trying a small food prep & delivery business. Not a sit-down restaurant...I cook the food and deliver it. I already have a Tax ID# (in my "past life" I did contract accounting labor), but I'm assuming I would also need to incorporate or something then file for a food license (I live in TX)? Sorry, but it's been about 15 years since my last business course. Another big question is, I would like to do this either out of my home or from a small building I could have built here, but...where I live is zoned residential, not commercial...I would tap into the electricity/water that runs to my house; could this effect my licensing? Does anybody know the minimum equipment requirements? Stainless steel sink, countertops, etc etc. I need all the info I can get. TIA
